SOUTHPORT INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM FESTIVAL 2022

2020 was our inaugural year. Run by film-makers for film-makers, this festival is destined to become a significant annual event on the cultural calendar in the Northwest of England. Our simple aim is to showcase the very best short films from around the world. The festival venue is the purpose-built Bijou Cinema, a community enterprise project that shares both our joint passion for film in all it's forms, as well as a desire to share this passion with the whole of the community.

We will  be accepting submissions for the 2022 festival from the 9th August 2021

It would not be an overstatement to say that Tony is one of the most significant figures in the British TV industry today.
A Southport-born market trader turned award-winning writer, he has run or created some of the most famous shows on British drama (EASTENDERS, LIFE ON MARS and HUSTLE for starters).
He now combines a packed writing schedule with driving the expansion of the independent production company he created in his own image – Red Planet Pictures. Amongst Red Planet's current productions is the popular BBC crime drama DEATH IN PARADISE.
A passion for story-telling on screen is behind his great success and he will also be bringing this wealth of experience to play as he has kindly agreed to judge the 'Best in Festival' award which will go to the filmmaker with the strongest entry.
